There’s always the first time for every thing, including speaking before the audience. I had experienced showing my music performance regularly in front of people. It was always well done. But speaking in front of people is something different that never been crossed my mind, in fact, it was such a nightmare to me. But then in Toastmasters, I finally found the supportive and inspiring people, and the encouraging as well as conducing atmosphere which always welcoming me and contributed to my self-confidence improvement. There’ll never be a bad speaker since the appreciation always be given to them no matter how unsuccessful speech might be happen. We could also practice on how to manage our speech in specified period of time, which accustomed us to speak efficiently and effectively. To let the further speech sunning smoothly, I will keep on exploring myself in achieving the optimum outcome of my capability, together with Toastmasters.

Public speaking and leadership are vital skills that can be developed and improved. Joining Essential Toastmasters Club (Jakarta) has been a tremendous shaping experience for me personally. The club offers tangible ways for people to learn self-confidence, effective interactive communication, team leadership, impact and influence…(The list goes on). It is a great place to develop skills we can use everyday and to brush up on my English together with people from across the organization. There is no better way to learn than to be actively engaged in the process!

Toastmasters is an excellent place to practice our English. In Toastmasters, everybody is encouraged to speak English, not only between Toastmasters Members, but also to speak in front of audiences. We are also able to take various roles such as becoming the leader of the meeting, checking the grammar, and as evaluator to other speakers. This would encourage us to be  a leader.

Toastmaster program is a great program for everyone to make an improvement and progress of yourself. It’s really for EVERYONE. Even if you are already a good speaker, Toastmaster would be able to make you even better, not only as a great speaker, but a great communicator and a great leader as well. If you feel that you are a quite person or difficult to express yourself, in toastmaster you can see the difference of you. Toastmaster will change you and you’ll find the improvement in yourself. What? Do you think you are already good in speaking? and have a good position at work? You’ll find more things to learn in this club!
It has a very constructive programs that would be able to help you being a better and more qualified person. Never ever underestimate or give up with the programs. If we follow the instructions and complete the tasks in the manual books and other supporting materials of toastmaster, it will give you many benefits for your life and the people around you. Much more than you’ve paid. You won’t regret it!

For me, giving speech is difficult. It is even more difficult to find the perfect environment to practice my speech, where the audiences don’t judge my performance. In Toastmasters, I am given the opportunity to practice my public speaking skills in a supportive and encouraging environment. Toastmasters will help me improve my communication skills and self-confidence so that I can be a better public speaker.

Toastmasters is not only helping you to speak english fluently, but also helping you to practice your public speaking skill in front of audiences and your leadership skill. In Toastmasters, whether you are prepared speaker or table topic speaker, you still have to manage your fear in front of the audience.

I came to this club about 17 months ago (written @Sept’08). The atmosphere are great and people greeted me warmly. Without any hesitation I joined with the club at my first visit and I never looked back. For me Toastmaster’s programs are perfect. I always loves English but I’m very poor with the grammar, to be honest, I’m still struggle with it now, but with the huge support from the other members and my own motto to always jump in. I feel much better than I was before. My suggestion to those who feel unsure about speaking in a public, just come and see. Feel it, breathe with it and enjoy the new you.

My professional experience in the last 11 years has taught me that speaking skill is indeed a key to success. The element of speaking I struggle with the most thinking on my feet, answering unexpected question with eloquence and grace within less than 1 minute! How on earth can I convey my ideas (and make a good impression) to a prospective client or employer within 1 minute? Well, that I learn from Toastmasters, my club Essential Toastmasters in Plaza Semanggi, Jakarta!
