Meeting Themes
Meeting themes can enhance the already fun-filled time of attending a Toastmasters meeting. Themes range from simply dressing up for a particular holiday to elaborately planning a meeting that requires the cooperation of all meeting participants. For example, a seasonal theme can grow into an elaborately planned meeting where the toast, table topics, speeches, the word of the day – in short everything – revolves around the theme including meeting room decorations and even food.

Word of the Day (WOD)
In Toastmasters, you have to have WORDS. Words are the tools we use to articulate our ideas. Sometimes we find that there are words we’ve never heard before. Having a word for the day gives us an opportunity to expand our vocabulary, and increase our chance at word usage. Whether these words are colloquialisms, or simply nice 50 cent words, they play a great part of our ability to communicate with others. Starting with our Sept 18th Meeting, here are the words our members have enlightened us with.
